Will my contact information be shared beyond EOC3?
No. We never sell or share your contact information with any other organization, person or third party. Period. We use your contact information to communicate with you.
What personal information does EOC3 gather?
The information you give us.
Will you use my name or other information on your website or for other uses?
If granted permission, supporter names may be acknowledged on our website, in promotional material and in some reports. If you do not give us permission, your name will not be used.
Do you use statistical tracking of my activity on your website, in your emails or other media?
EOC3’s website (www.EOC3.org) logs visitors using web browser cookies and uses Google Analytics for statistical tracking. This information is used for internal purposes only and is not shared. Our website does not store your credit card information.
The only instance of individual tracking performed by EOC3 is when a mail list recipient has not opened any of our emails for several months. Then, EOC3 may contact that person to ask if they wish to continue to receive our emails, or if they would prefer to be removed from our list.
Are my membership dues tax deductible?
Yes. Both membership dues and donations are tax deductible.
What is the difference between signing up to receive EOC3’s emails and signing up to be a Member?
Signing up to receive EOC3’s emails is free, there is no fee. Signing up to become a Member involves a fee, based upon what type of Membership you choose (see form here).
Your Membership fee helps EOC3 to present its monthly education seminars, called Climate Conversations. Fees also help EOC3 to defray organizational costs such as website hosting, required 501c3 filings, etc. Members are invited to attend EOC3 board meetings and vote on new Board Members each year. In many ways they help to guide the trajectory of EOC3. New Members are welcome, and scholarships are available if the fee is an obstacle.
What type of emails do you send out?
EOC3 relies on email and its website as its primary methods of communication. Most emails announce upcoming monthly Climate Conversation programs, provide the Zoom link for those programs, then after the program provide a link to the recording, along with resource material of interest on that month’s topic. EOC3 also emails newsletters every few months. EOC3 also sends out emails encouraging membership, primarily in the fall months. Other emails are sent on an as-needed basis.
Every email sent contains an Unsubscribe button for those who don’t wish to continue receiving EOC3 emails.
What about social media?
EOC3 uses social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram to engage our supporters in dialogue. On these networks, we abide by the terms and conditions of those websites/services. While EOC3 endeavors to provide a healthy environment on those sites, as an all-volunteer organization we cannot guarantee full-time monitoring of comments made. EOC3 does reserve the right to edit and moderate media platform content. Non-EOC3 promotions and advertising are not permitted in any EOC3 medium, nor is derogatory or hateful speech.
